THE FOUNDATION OF TATANKA MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION

IS VERY POSITIVE, HONEST, INTEGRITY INTACT, AND WE WILL ALWAYS BEHAVE IN A DECENT, PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTIVE MANNER.

Native Americans and Buffalo have a long history together. Buffalo, or the American Bison, has played an essential role in the survival and culture of the Native Americans who lived in the Plains region of what is now the United States, and parts of southern Canada. The buffalo was the most important natural resource of the Plains Indians. The Plains Indians were hunters. They hunted many kinds of animals, but it was the Buffalo that provided them with all their basic needs: food, clothing, and shelter.

We will strive for the protection rights of the Native American Buffalo and the rights of ALL People. Our principles are based on Native American Principles, Rights, Integrity, Leadership and Freedom. And we favor no race of people; it’s all based on the needs to support our community. The American People have fought and died for rights and we cannot depute the reasons why. All we can do now is not let that happen, and to be committed to support the Rights of the Native Americans (Founders of this Country) and to protect the Tatanka (Buffalo). The Buffalo has been a great means of support and Spirit for the Native People, that we must now help to protect these values.

The American Indian developed a close, spiritual relationship with the buffalo. The sacred buffalo became an integral part of the religion of the Plains Indian. Furthermore, the diet of primarily buffalo created a unique physiological relationship. The adage “You are what you eat” was never more applicable than in the symbiotic relationship between the buffalo and the Plains Indian. The Plains Indian culture was intrinsic with the buffalo culture. The two cultures could not be separated without mutual devastation. Without the buffalo, it is unlikely that the Indian could have survived the harsh rigors of the Plains. With them, they achieved a rich and colorful life.
The Great Spirit, known as Wakan Tanka among the Sioux, Gitchee Manitou in Algonquian, and in many Native American and First Nations cultures as the divine or the sacred, is the supreme being, God, or a conception of universal spiritual force.

The foundation of Tatanka Motorcycle Association is very positive, honest, integrity intact, and we will always behave in a decent, professional and respective manner. We will always promote, honesty, show respect especially for our female members and mainly peace and togetherness of all. The strength and the spirit of the Buffalo (TATANKA-YANASI) cannot be broken. The American Indian was dependent on the buffalo for survival. With the demise of the buffalo, the American Indian’s life evolved into economic dependence on the U.S. government with cycles of severe poverty. The Indian’s economic dependence on the buffalo had a very important part in developing the interactive and cooperative economic relationships. The buffalo is a giving animal. It gave its life so Indians could live. The buffalo’s generosity provided Indians with food and shelter. Indian people modeled the buffalo’s generosity, and it became fundamental to the economy of the American Indian. Like the buffalo, the American Indian people are generous. The American Indian and the buffalo coexisted in a rare balance between nature and man.

Tatanka Motorcycle Association was founded by Gary Thomas (Cochise) Pyles. Gary created this patch to acknowledge, protect and preserve the American (TATANKA-YANASI) Buffalo-Bison.
